About the Authors: Eugene Gass Painter is the great grandson of Patrick Gass. His grandmother was Rachel Gass Brierley, Patrick Gass’s youngest child. Mr. Painter shares his heritage by presenting various educational programs on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Mr. Painter resides in Washington, PA.
