Lewis and Clark Commemorative Events & Happenings

September 7, 2013: Music Festival 2013 at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, Wood River, Illinois.  Traditional music of the late 1700s and early 1800s performed by musicians in period dress.

September 13, 2013: 6 PM - 10 PM: STAR PARTY at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, Great Falls, Montana.  The Lewis and Clark expedition relied on celestial observation to chart their course.  Learn more about our night sky.

September 21, 2013: "John Colter Run" at the Missouri Headwater State Park, Bozeman, Montana.  John Colter of the Lewis & Clark Expedition, departed the Company on August 15, 1806 to join fur trappers. His adventures were many and most notable his escape from the Blackfeet Tribe in Montana.  Trace the steps of John Colter and his escape from the Blackfeet Tribe  Course is approx. 7 miles on paved and gravel roads and rugged trails, the course is relatively rough but suited for cross country running. The race begins and ends at the Missouri Headwaters State Park with the first mile and a half on a paved county road. the remainder of the course crosses a number of gravel roads, but most of it will be on marked, rugged trails. The course, where not on roads, will be marked with flagged stakes. The last 200 yards crosses the Gallatin River, where it will be waist deep. Bring an extra change of clothes for the awards ceremony and refreshments. 

September 21 - 22, 2013: Missouri River Outdoor Expo in Ponca, Nebraska at the Ponca State Park.  FREE EVENT!
